Caprignana is about 65 kms north of Lucca, nestled between a 500 hectare national park offering wonderful opportunities for walking and the imposing marble mountains of Carrara.
The nearest airport is Pisa, around 1.5 hours drive.
The property is about 1.5 to 2 hours north of Florence, 3 hours from Milano and 4-5 hours drive from Rome and Venice.
Trains arriving at Piazza al Serchio, the local town, connect the two ends of the valley – Lucca and Aulla, which in turn provide excellent rail connections throughout Italy.
Shopping and services are in Piazza al Serchio, 3 kms down the hills, where you will obtain all your requirements. There is one shop in the village. The Cinque Terre is around 1.5 hours away and can be visited by train or car in a day.
At 870 metres above sea level both villa and barn are ideal even for the warmest months of summer.
The house is managed by an English speaking woman who lives in the adjacent house and who will help make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
